As part of this process, we focus on minimizing the costs and hassles associated with over-estimating—or worse, under-estimating—your power, space, and other IT requirements.

But don’t fret about getting it 100% right with the initial setup. One of our mottos is what you need, when you need it. If you need to adjust your bandwidth, space or power, we can work with you to make sure you have what you need. We’re also flexible in making sure the solution works for you. If you need us to make changes to BGP for example, just let us know.

For storing your equipment, you have a choice of one of the following:

½ a locked cabinet
One or more whole locked cabinets. One 20 amp circuit is included per cabinet at no extra cost.
A locked cage – starting at 10 x 10 in size and configurable in increasing 5 x 10 increments. Free 2 post racks and shelves are available for cage customers. A 10 x 10 cage also includes four208 volt, 20 amp circuits or seven 120 volt, 20 amp circuits at no extra cost.
A custom, private data room

One of the unique aspects of our space options is that we use sliding doors for our cages. The way these doors are configured, they slide totally away, giving you full, unfettered access to your equipment. With these doors you can maximize your space use and not have to deal with squeezing into awkward, tight spaces. They really make it easy to work on your racks. If you choose a cabinet, our facility is equipped with high quality Electrorack cabinets that are 24”wide, 42” deep and 45U tall.

SMH Colocation also stands behind our product. We are so confident in the quality of our data center and it’s systems, that we have separate 100% SLAs available on environmentals , power and network (depending on the service configuration). And why are we so confident. That one is easy. It is because we’ve never had an outage in any of them. Ever!

As with space, we offer a variety of choices with bandwidth. You can choose from Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet or 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections. All of these connect to our redundant network infrastructure, ultimately going to the Internet in the best path via multiple backbone providers. We also offer direct connections to a number of Internet providers, if this is your preference. Connections are measured as flat rate (where the top end of the bandwidth used is fixed at a level you choose) or burstable (where you pay for the traffic rate sustained by 95% of your traffic usage – the top 5% is tossed out leaving you room for peak traffic without the cost of paying for it).

power is available in 20 amp feeds to cabinets and in 20 or 30 amp feeds to cages. Because of our amazingly robust and redundant data center, we can offer separate power feeds (from different PDUs and risers) to your cabinet or cage.

And because we recognize that it is really hard to do everything inside your cage or adjacent to your cabinet, we have a dedicated, separate and secure space for unboxing and setting up your equipment. Then you can just roll it over to your cabinet or rack for easy installation. We even will handle and accept shipments for you and store them until you arrive to install them.

A final, very unique aspect of our services is that we are one of a few (and possibly the only) companies who offer colocation, dedicated hosting and streaming media services. What this means is that you can have access to all three in one place, with one company. So, you can colocate your servers, have your web site or database hosted and offer videos of your key products or services (as an example) and do it simply and easily with one partner.
